Good to know: On wheels you cover more ground but stop less: guides halt at the big sights, not in every lane. Minimum age, height and weight limits for Segways are set by each provider and listed on the booking page – we do not guess them. One bike tour crosses the Rhine to Kehl in Germany (3.5 hours, €49) and has only 10 reviews so far.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Strasbourg Christmas market worth a guided tour?

The market is free to walk through, so a tour is about context: the history, the quieter corners and tastings. Announced opening for 2026 is Friday 27 November; check the dates on the city’s official Christmas site. Weekend evenings are the most crowded.

Do I need a guide in Strasbourg, or can I walk it alone?

The historic island is small and mostly car-free, so you can see the main sights alone. A guide pays off for the stories behind them. Guided walks start at €15 for one hour and mostly cost €20–40 for two.

Is Colmar better as a day trip by tour or by train?

Colmar is about 70 km away and roughly 30 minutes by regional train, so doing it alone costs only a ticket. A group day earns its price for the wine villages and Haut-Koenigsbourg castle, which are harder to reach without a car.

Can I take a boat trip on the Ill?

The large public river cruise is not among our offers. We list four private boats, including a skippered boat for up to four people, so a private charter is the only boat option we can compare.

Can I visit the Black Forest or Germany from Strasbourg?

Yes. A 9-hour group day goes via Freiburg and Titisee for about €124, and a bike tour crosses the Rhine to Kehl in Germany in 3.5 hours for about €49. Kehl is just across the river.

Are the tours suitable for children?

Age limits are set by each provider and are not in our data, so we do not quote any. The booking page of each offer states the minimum age, which matters especially for Segway tours.
